Harm Reduction

We are passionate about harm reduction, because quite frankly, we believe it keeps people alive longer.

Harm reduction is an evidenced-based approach that works by helping a person examine what is working well for them in their life and determine where they are struggling. Regardless of whether the issue is substance use, mental health, or both, the harm reduction lens allows a person to identify problematic behaviors and to gradually work toward reducing the negative effects and risks of those behaviors with self-directed and manageable interventions.

By centering the person in their recovery and empowering them to lead their own healing process, we reduce the shame and stigma that are so often barriers to success.

By creating concrete and manageable action steps to reduce risk and increase safety, we nurture an environment of healing that puts the individual in charge of their recovery process.

Recovery is rarely a linear journey, and we believe that people are more likely to seek help when their life experience is trusted and validated.
